Watching every joke with his official stopwatch is Carlos Martinez, Guinness adjudicator.
Carlos: "The current record is 38 hours 6 minutes as long as he goes longer he will get the new record."
Martinez says Marley has to have 10 people in the audience at all times.
And he has to go for at least 4 hours without repeating a joke.
"Connecticut and Rhode Island are like the relatives you never see. Massachusetts is the drunk uncle who shows up and ruins everything."
Marley says he tried to get in shape for this laugh marathon by reviewing material from his 20 albums. He hopes to go 25 hours without recycling material.
Actually he gets 5-minute breaks every hour. Why is Marley putting himself through this. "I'm doing this because I'm a lunatic trying to work out issues."
Actually, the husband and dad is known for generosity, he's doing it to raise money for the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital.
He's hoping to go for 40 hours straight.
Marley: "When I'm done I'll I'm going to do a second set down at the Kowloon in Saugus..."
