It's official, Guinness World Records confirmed that a world record was set at Science Day 2009. According to Guinness World Records, "The current record for the "Largest chemistry lesson" is 268 participants, in an event organized by Hooked on Science (USA) at West Park Mall, Missouri, USA, on 2 October 2009."
Hundreds of kids, young and old, set the world record by participating in the largest chemistry lesson at Science Day 2009. Participants learned all about polymers by creating slime. To be exact, folks created 268 batches of the green goop. We used slime from the Science Bob store. Science Bob's slime is designed for learning and fun and can be picked up, slowly stretched to over 4 feet, and can even be rolled into a ball.
