From a string of bumper-bar giraffes, through an array of teddy bears to a Kermit the Frog perched on the roof, Mr Mitchelson's car is adorned with almost 500 toys.
Needless to say, it's a car that attracts attention and honks, bringing a smile to even the most stressed-out peak-hour motorist.
The decorating began in September 2008, when the diehard Cronulla Sharks fan painted his car in the team's blue and white.
"I added Sharks toys, but they've barely won a game since. I hope I'm not a jinx," he said yesterday.
"It started as a hobby and then I thought it would look funny to add more toys and it just grew from there.
"I collect the toys from garage sales or council clean-ups and at one point I was adding about a dozen a day but I'm starting to run out of room now."
More than 300 toys are stuck on the exterior, and Mr Mitchelson estimated that there were up to 200 inside. But, despite the colourful distractions, he said he had been given the all-clear by police.
"I've been pulled over several times but once the police have checked it out I've been given the green light. As long as the side mirrors, lights and number plates can be seen I'm fine," he said.
