Robbie Williams rocked his way into the record books and gave BBC Worldwide the boast of being the distributor of a history maker.
The singer's BBC Electric Proms performance -- broadcast to more than 250 cinemas across 23 countries by BBC Worldwide via a live satellite feed -- set a Guinness World Record for "the most simultaneous cinematic screenings of a live concert." The Guinness Book of Records confirmed the record Tuesday.
The sell-out London concert, which rocked out here and across countries including Germany, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland will also be screened to auditorium shows in locations such as Mexico City, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand in the coming weeks.
Williams is no stranger to the record books. He last entered them when his "Close Encounters" tour in 2009 sold 1.6 million tickets in one day.
