Anand Kumar, the noted mathematician and the founder of Super-30 institute dedicated to the grooming of young boys and girls from underprivileged background for IIT entrance test, was inducted into the Limca Book of World Records 2009 for his endeavor in the field of education.The book details the humble background of Kumar who could not attend Cambridge due to financial hardships and how he overcame it only to shatter a number of academic records in the nation.
"This is a great honor for our sir who gave us so much expecting only good results from us," said a former student of Super-30.
Super-30, since its inception under the banner of Ramanujam School of Mathematics, selects 30 talented boys and girls each year from economically deprived sections and grooms them for admission in the nation's premier Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – all for free!
In Seven years, the institute has coached 210 students out of which 182 have succeeded in cracking the IIT entrance test.
