Sofia zoo will take part in an attempt of all Zoos in the Europe for making a record for the Guinness Book of Record.The event will be held on June 21 at 9.00 am and will continue all day long, when “a picnic of teddy bears” will be organized. Sofia’s Zoo invites everyone that has a teddy bear to join the picnic. The goal of the even is as most as possible teddy bears to be gathered at the Zoo. Rewards for youngest and oldest bear will be given during the event.
Bears and their owners will gather for “big meeting of the bears” at 1.30 p.m.
Afterwards there will be bear parade and winners will be announced in several categories.
Due to this initiative our Zoo will join the European campaign for making a world record for the most teddy bears ever gathered in Zoos in one day.
The campaign is part of European Association of Zoos and Aquaria. It’s focused mainly on formation of public awareness of the important place of European predatory animals in nature.
