Singer Karen Davy has produced a marathon effort to claim a world record and raise thousands of dollars for a children's charity.
Davy, a Dolly Parton impersonator and grandmother, on Wednesday completed 48 hours of non-stop singing at Auckland Airport's international terminal.
She began entertaining travellers on Monday and continued until 5pm Wednesday, when a sore throat finally proved too much.
"I'm really, really tired," she told The New Zealand Herald. "My body is screaming."
Her efforts are estimated to have raised between $7000 and $12,000 for Kidney Kids, a charity for children with kidney disease.
It was her second attempt at getting her name in the Guinness World Records.
Last December, she sang for 47 hours and 29 minutes at Botany Town Centre in Auckland, eclipsing the record by 51 minutes and raising $7000 for Kidney Kids.
However, the official paperwork was lost while being sent to Guinness so her achievement wasn't confirmed.
This time, her team has made multiple copies to avoid a repeat of that mishap.
