Madhya Pradesh Police Officer name in Limca Book of Records

A Madhya Pradesh police officer posthumously won an entry in the Limca Book of World Record for his valour.

Police Inspector Harjeet Singh Sudan had 150 pellets in his body which he sustained in an exchange of fire with the dacoits two decades ago in Mandsaur and died of a heart attack while he was deployed to check a riot at Burhanpur in October 20, 2008.

His son Gurvinder Singh said 180 pellets pierced through his father’s body during his encounter with the dacoits at Mandsaur in 1989.

The dacoits were nabbed after the encounter.

“After the exchange of fire, the doctors operated on my father and removed 30 pellets from his body,” Mr. Singh said. — PTI
