Nearing 1,000 school children from North Wales witness a record breaking attempt at the largest bubble during an amazing day of spectacular experiments in a show called 'The Big Flash Bang!'As well as demonstrating all things fiery and explosive, Dr Robyn Wheldon-Williams and his scientists successfully attempted the World record for the largest number of people enclosed in a bubble. Evidence of the bubble, containing 59 children, all over 5 foot, now awaits verification by the record judges.
Having broken the record in May 2007 with 35 people as part of S4C's science show for children, Atom, the record has proved to be extremely competitive, "The record lasted three months, being broken in the States with 42 and more recently 50 by a bubble artist in London. We hope that we've brought the World record back to Wales" said Dr Robyn Wheldon-Williams.
The aim of the bilingual show is to encourage children to take a real interest in science at a young age.An excellent communicator, who inspires an interest in science in children and adults on television and on stage Dr Robyn Wheldon Williams is a graduate of Bangor University and a Chemistry teacher at Ysgol Brynhyfryd, Ruthin as well as managing Bangor University School of Chemistry's Outreach Programme.
